Anticipation

I have been working on recording some different jazz sextet original songs since 2020.  This is the sixth and final tune written for my first jazz sextet album.  I wrote this song a while back for a Jazz Hip Hop group called G8.  This session used the same rhythm section as "I Melt Away," which features long time friends Kavyesh and Jeff as well as a newer drummer to the Twin Cities scene, Joey Finger.  Stephanie Wieseler is someone that I have been planning on recording with for a while, and I'm happy I had the chance to work with her.  I gave Adam a while chorus to stretch out on, because I knew this backbeat would be a great vehicle for his soulful sounds.  I want to point out that I recently got an endorsement with Conn/Selmer/Bach.  I have been playing on my trusty Bach 16M for around 20 years, and I just can't imagine playing on anything else.  From a beautiful mellow sound to a loud roar, this instrument is truly the versatile tool that I need for all of the different music I play.
